Side Effects

So I have been smoke free for 3 months!

Whoop de Do!

I know, I know. I am happy about that but I have turned into a food scarfing machine! I cannot stop eating. I am crazy hungry all the time. All. The. Freaking. TIME!

So sure I do not smell like an ashtray but I look like this guy...

nice huh?

And poor Master P (my insulin pump) did not notice a difference on Thanksgiving since I have been bolusing like there is no tomorrow for 3 whole months! That has been 90 days of non-stop eating, constant hunger, and filling reservoirs on a (what seems) daily basis. I have to start wearing maternity clothes or sweats or maybe...

a kilt?

congrats on 3 months of smoke-free!

but I can understand how the side effects must be annoying.

Hey SuperG! Congrats on 3 months free from smoking!! You should be very proud of yourself. :)

I'm sure the "side-effects" are annoying, but you are doing a great service to your body by taking such good care of it.

I want my babybackbabybackbabyback.

Congrats on 3 months!!

Now you need to get to work on the eating thing......

Maybe rather than hunger, it's an oral fixation thing? Try chewing gum or chewing a toothpick....

No rest for the weary :)

Congrats on the milestone!

WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO on 3 months! That's an amazing accomplishment and no amount of Jabba-ness should ever undermine that feat!!!

I love that your pump is named Master P. We haven't named Charlie's pump yet. It does, however, activate forcefields, shoot lasers and gives him invisibility. Congrats on 3 months. May the force be with you.

Go George! Stopping the smoking really is a difficult, yet critical thing for your health.

Hey, you know, sometimes hunger is really thirst in disguise. Have you tried filling your body with copious amounts of water?

Also, try this: when you get a craving, pinch your earlobes for 5 seconds and see if it goes away. I don't know why, but I read somewhere that it works!

Go George!

3 months! Yahoo!!!!
Way to go. I think the weight gain is probably much better than the smoking. Though the gain is probably quite frustrating, I'm sure.

But then there is always a kilt... or perhaps a muumuu (A la Homer Simpson).

How about a toga? Not only are they stylish, but the air circulation is second to none.

You crack me up.

Good on you for hitting the 3 month mark! Did you know that your lung function increases by 10% after the three month mark?

My word verification was ixmmu...I wonder if that translates to ix-nay on the muumuu... ;)

Congrats on 3 months smoke-free!

Ok, I had a giggle when I saw the Austin Powers reference in your post. But honestly, you are doing your body good by quitting and I wish you continued success!

Way to go!

SG - leave those coffin nails in that trail of dust as you move forward. Three months is huge!

I am rapidly becoming a chub-ette myself, and I don't even have a good reason (nor a solution, for that matter, but I will probably be pinching my earlobes all afternoon!).

hahaha! 3 whole months! Quitting smoking was one of the hardest things I ever did, EVER! It was so hard I never want to smoke again because quitting was so terrible, WAY TO GO!

3 WHOLE MONTHS?!! Has it really been that long?! Wow.

Really man, sit back and absorb that for a minute! Do you remember when you first tried to quit? Cold Turkey? And now look at you - 3 months out!

Really man - I'm super proud of you. And, you don't stink anymore! Well, at least not like cigs... :-p
