Some DAM Reflections

I cannot believe it is already December 1st! Where did November go?
Diabetes Awareness Month was my main focus throughout the last 30 days. On Facebook I updated my status daily through the month with either a Diabetes fact or truth about the disease. Lots of them were copied onto other peoples pages. I had several of my non-D friends commenting on how they learned something new and some d-folk learned some things too. So did I! I think it was a good experience.
My son and I are hoping to get into the studio soon to record “That’s My Type” so we can upload it to iTunes. That was the highlight for me this last month. Writing a song with my son was probably one of the coolest things I have ever done.
Oh man, how can I forget about the Big Blue Test Video?!? Granted, the video was cool but what was accomplished is much cooler. To think that watching a video can save a life is just amazing. I am so proud to be apart of that video and to do with my son made it all the more special.
Then there is DSMA Live! I forgot about that too! Holy crap I am a co-host on a Blog Talk Radio show. How did that happen?!?
So now the key is to keep this momentum going. We need to continue advocating, education, and spotlighting diabetes in our lives so the world pays attention.

November was a great month. I really enjoyed your facebook updates and found them to be right on point. You got some great messages through them and clarified a lot of misinformation.
I loved seeing you and George in the video, and the song you guys wrote is a total hit. And getting to co-host with you on DSMA Live is so fun.
I feel like a lucky guy to be able to call you a friend, and I appreciate all that you do for everyone out there.
