D-Feast Friday - Ninja Burgers

So yeah, I made these and they were amazing. First the ingredients. This is for 6 burgers.

  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup (20 for Scott)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 6 Wheat Sandwich Thins

1. Fire up the grill and have a beer ready. I rarely drink beer but have to when barbecuing for some reason.

2. In a bowl, mix together the Cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, onion, egg, ketchup, salt, & pepper. Throw in the ground beef, and mix together by hand. Form into 6 patties, and wrap a slice of yummy delicious bacon around each one. Secure the bacon with toothpicks, and not those frilly ones k?

3. Put them on the grill and cook them just like you would any old burgers. About 5 minutes per side.

4. Add any fixings you want like tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, mayo and whatever. Throw them on a Wheat Sandwich Thin (21 carbs) and get your grub on the way Ninjas do!

You do need to be careful since they are a little fragile and bacon should always be treated with the highest amount of care and respect. It is "meat candy" after all.

Carb wise, I really only count the Sandwich Thins although I guess I should have figured in the Ketchup and the Beer. Hope you enjoy it, I know my family and friends loved them!

These look so tasty, is it lunchtime yet?! - might try turkey bacon, and maybe even adding in a few mashed black beans to up the fiber in this one - really looks good!

I bet every recipe you come up with on your own has some form of bacon involved. After all, it is meat candy! LOL. Totally in agreement, by the way...

SOUNDS YUMMMMMMY! I do the cheese in the burger thing when I make turkey burgers 2!
I'm going to try making Ninja burgers, but is it alright if I drink a vodka mojito instead of a beer while I make them?

Sounds great! My dad makes burgers with cheese inside but these sound better (and easier). And well, there's the whole BACON thing.

If I use a frilly toothpick, will it explode? LOL!

Those look good, even to me. :-)

My husband will have to cook these for me! We must swap out the yekup for BBQ sauce:)

Haha! I'm back to look at the recipe so I can make these and I just noticed the Scott/ketchup reference.

We eat those wheat things all the time too. I thought they were strange Wheat Thin crackers until I clicked on the link. I'm a boob. :)

Oh I am such a hungry pig right now (BG's were up this morning - so only had a coffee - wahhh) - now I want a Ninja burger. Going to send this onto my friends I'm visiting this w/e in New York state - and say "let's make these burgers". One of my friends is on a low carb diet - so she should be happy with this burger.

Down girl - down - you know you cannot lick the screen with the raw meat on it - not good for a Fat Cat's tummy \\^^//

I should pass this on to my sister. She has the grill. :-)

They look SO good though.
