Sunflower - A Poem

Each morning you open up and receive what light you can.
Contained in your being is the warmth received.
When you decide to open next for whom ever comes by, you bless them with what you share.
You never stop.
You never expect anyone to stop but you are ready if they do.
As you reach you realize you cannot move.
Still stretching, reaching, hoping to reach someone. Anyone.
Your immobility does not deter because your mission, your purpose is clear.
To reach out to everyone and anyone and share what you have.
Your gift to the world.
Yourself.
Deep inside you want to force your love on everyone but fail over and over again.
Why? Are you not good enough? Do you not please the eye?
This garden has no mistakes, no deformities.
A garden half as beautiful as this one would shock the senses with it's splendor.
But still you want to grow taller and be liked by more.
Was that why you grew? You grow only to be liked and accepted?
No, you grew for yourself.
Yourself.
Forget that, and no one will ever understand.
Especially you.

I really love this, George. So very much.
thanks Kerri. I have never shared a poem (beside a silly rhyme) here before and it was always something I found a lot of comfort in doing. Heck the first songs we sang as a band were my poems set to music.
This really means a lot.
What a lovely message in a lovely format!
Fiona - Thank you so much.
