Donation
Monday, January 3, 2011 at 10:17AM Back in November, I worked out a deal with the International Diabetes Foundation to donate all the proceeds from the sale of “Not By Choice” to the IDF. The plan was to take any sales from World Diabetes Day until the end of 2010 and send every sent to help the IDF do all the great work it does!
Unfortunately, there were only a few downloads.
Since I released it on iTunes I have left every cent in an account online waiting to do something with it. So I decided to send everything, all the money that was made from any purchase of the song to the IDF, today.
Granted, I am not some superstar singer with a radio played song but you all who have purchased it did because diabetes touches your life in some way. Because of that it seemed only right to include that money in the donation.
Diabetes is a world wide epidemic and the IDF uses their resources around the globe to better care, education, and treatment for people with diabetes.
That is a group I can get behind and I hope the donation I am able to send helps.

Doh... Honestly, George, I forgot. I've watched it so many times for free on your blog and YouTube and everywhere without downloading. that it just slipped my mind about purchasing on YouTunes for that donation... Darn it. Can I still do it, despite it now being 2011 and a new tax year? If so, I will get on that this post-work evening from home. Drop me a line and let me know. Otherwise, I'll plan tp proceed ahead (better late than never, right?) Sorry about the oversight from this end, my friend.

That is so awesome, George. You rock, literally!! Pete and I smile every time your song comes on in the car when my iPhone is plugged in and playing. Now we'll smile even bigger, thinking about how your donation is helping those with diabetes all over the world.
So glad to hear! I have that song on my playlist on my iPhone for my drives up to Chicago that I take weekly. It helps me pass the long freeway ride. I'm happy to hear that it's helping in other ways too! :-)
