Fifteen
Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 8:05AM This all started at a fundraising car wash in the summer of 1988.
We were both in band and were raising money for our trip to Australia.
She was an incoming freshman and I just finished up my freshman year ready for my sophomore year to begin.
I remember how shy she was and I also remember how my heart felt. I would not call it love at first sight as much as I think my soul recognized that it found it's other half.
I know that may sound cheesy but I mean that. It was the strangest feeling ever. She was beautiful but also a complete mystery. And then again, it seemed like I knew her so well.
Being the romantic guy that I was at the time, I did was any love struck Romeo would do.
I sprayed her with the hose.
We still laugh about that stuff and frankly that is what it's all about. As of today, we have 15 years of marriage between us and I realize that the laughing is what keeps us strong.
The laughter Jasmine and I shared that first day we met still echoes in my heart. I call on it often to remind my soul of the day it was completed.
