Eve Of Change

It’s Health Net Eve.

Today I am enjoying my last with Blue Cross of California and will begin anew with Health Net tomorrow.

And I am nervous.

I know I shouldn’t be since I checked with Doctor Awesome before we made the switch at work and he accepts them so I am okay there but it’s other stuff that concerns me.

Stuff that I should have thought about but maybe didn’t.

My company lagged on getting this going so the info I have received has been minimal at best. The specifics about prescriptions, durable goods, specialists, and all those little things I am totally in the dark about.

So not cool.

All I could do was choose the most expensive PPO and hope for the best.

Anyone have any feedback on Health Net?

We have Health Net, our daughter is a type 1 diabetic and she just got her pump 2 weeks ago. Before that, we paid 0 for syringes, 15 or 10 for insulins (humalog and Levimir), strips, lancets no cost. I think we got her Glucagon for 15 bucks with Healthnet. They covered her pump and all that comes with it, except for (please forgive my ignorance in all this, as it's new to me still!) the tubing I think...I'm not sure. But I know it's something minimal in the grand scheme of things! So far they have been really good with everything. Good luck and thanks for the great blogs! I went to school with Anna and she told me about your blog! :)

I've never used Health Net, but we've had our share of insurance swap-outs in the last four years. Not fun, learning the ropes at a new insurance place when the ones at the last one were all tangled, too. Thinking of you, G.

I too get nervous with any sort of change in health insurance. Heck, I get nervous at that time of year even when they say nothing is changing! Something always changes, and it's usually some schmuck with a chronic condition who gets screwed who figures out what changed.
