I Never Met Him

Words have such meaning when tied together right,
when the bond between two souls is so incredibly tight,
and the way we share them in print and in type,
is a gift to those reading. A privleged insight.
In good times and sorrow we travel along,
the contrast of silence and joining in song,
as a reader I'm caught up and feel I'm there too,
knowing, enjoying, celebrating with you.
Just the same feeling loss whenever you do,
not knowing exactly what you are going through,
yet tears still fall and my heart stings with pain,
For my friend and her family will never be the same.
I never met him but I know him it seems,
from the words that express all the love that he brings,
from the images, stories, and messages of love,
as I imagine him smiling down from Heaven above.
Grieving with hope is not as easy as told,
When lost was a loved one with a heart of pure gold,
take comfort in knowing the love you knew best,
you shared with so many and we were all blessed.
I never met him but I knew him through you,
introduced by your words and the images they drew,
although it never happened while here in this place,
I'll look forward to meet him one day face to face.

Beautifully written, and this echoes my own personal thoughts, and I'd bet the thoughts of many of us who just can't put those thoughts into words, perfectly.
