Diabetes Art Day "Hi-Lo"

Like last year I really had no clue what was going to come out of my head. The only thing I knew was that I only wanted to use pencil.

It's dark, confusing, upsetting, ugly, and a mess. Just like what a high or a low can feel like. I liked the idea of having the person erased out of the confusion. Almost trapped. I tend to feel trapped when I am fighting a high or nursing a low.

I really hated it when I made it but I like it more and more. It's where I am and it's where I go when I am high or low.

Thank you Lee Ann for making D-Art Day happen. It is so theraputic!

I am calling you Geroge from now on. it sounds french and fancy!

I seriously do really like your piece. I totally get that "trapped" feeling!

Wow, George (Sir Geroge!), that's outstanding. Love the use of pencil, and your explanation of why you used it. I'd used pencil in one of my creations and that was the reason why, though I couldn't articulate the "feeling" at the time - you nailed it. Great stuff, and so emotionally true. Thanks for sharing this, my friend.

oh geroge (haha jess see what you've done) i am SO GLAD you were able to find the time/energy/inspiration to participate this year. it's different from last year, but like you said, this is where you are now. i like how the longer you look the more you see. <3

This is rather deep and clever all at once. (my favorite combo in art :) Nice job and I agree-that's how it feels to be up and down or down and up or just up or just down :)

I love this d-Art. Your pencil work really conveys both the agitation of a low and the fog of a high. Looks like the double-up and double-down arrows are working to pull this person apart.

Wow! It's simple & complex all at one time. Even though I don't pump those double arrows still spoke to me. Well done, my friend!

Fabulous scribble art! It totally captures how the double arrows feel to me.

Geroge! Officially the new nickname!

That is some powerful art friend! I love how it looks chaotic and clear at the same time. Like there is all this crap going on and we have to make sense of it. And then there are these numbers (or arrows) that are always willing to be a measure of our success (for good or bad).
