We, The Undersigned - DBlog Week Day 2
Recently various petitions have been circulating the Diabetes Online Community, so today let’s pretend to write our own. Tell us who you would write the petition to – a person, an organization, even an object (animate or inanimate) - get creative!! What are you trying to change and what have you experienced that makes you want this change?
To: Target
We, the Undersigned are request full disclosure on the seemingly undetectable yet potent aerosol insulin you pump through the stores.
Each trip to Target ends prematurely with the chomping of glucose tabs, grazing of snacks on the shelves, or ordering smoothies from the snack bar all to fight hypoglycemic reactions that occur in many a diabetic.
We understand that it may not be insulin but an insulin inhancer or booster that makes our Humalog turn into Supalog! Whatever magic that lives or is creating in every Target we must be allowed to understand and utilize for our own good and not only to increase your smoothie sales.
Please sign below if you have ever experienced the Target phenomenom we are now calling "Targoglycemia."
Targoglycemia is real, at least it is in my head which is enough for me. ;)
(this is clearly a joke because if Target had that magic we would all be there immediately after a visit to a cupcake shop)

Targoglycemia is completely real! It is why when I'm having a stubborn high I make a run to Target. Sometimes it's the only thing that will bring me down.
Targoglycemia - HA! Yes, it totally does exist. And I think they pump it out in even greater amounts over near the pharmacy and by the cheese aisle... I can't even count how many times I've gone Low while in Target. Wow - great creative spin on this prompt, George! Absolutely love it.
Love this! Though I've never experienced this myself (no Targets in Canada) you brought a smile to my face today. Thanks!
I am totally signing this one. I demand to know! Stand up for transparency! :)

Haha, I love this petition, George! And I especially love your disclaimer at the bottom about the cupcakes. :)
Targoglycemia - ALL. DAY.
Signing!! This is just one of those life mysteries that I don't think will ever be solved!

I'm like you Mike, I cannot count how many times I have experienced Targoglycemia!
The worst low that I have EVER HAD was a Targoglycemia episode! Also was the fact that I had left my purse with my daughter all the way on THE OTHER SIDE OF TARGET! Thankfully by the time I got back to her, she saw what was happening and poured the glucose gel into my face.
Worked for me!

Landileigh - "poured the glucose gel into my face." Those are the worst kind of lows! Ugh. Darn you Target.
"Target-induced hypoglycemia" should become and official medical term.
Oh. My. Gawsh. This has happened to me, too!! And why do I still walk down the snacks and candy aisles when I have no intention of buying anything from those aisles? It's like a moth to flame...I can't help myself!
Brilliant!
Hysterical!! This just happened to me last week!
LOL It's so true!!! I've never left the store without fighting a Hypo. If my #s have been running high, I'll make the trip to Target and get them right back in range ;)
HAHA!. George! This is fantastic.
Updated Personal to-do's this friday: go to cupcake shop, go to target, avoid high blood sugar. Carry out with normal day
you're awesome. haha.
Absolutely signing. And thank you for finally naming this mysterious condition. Love it.
I have a 30% temp basal I run for Target. No joke. And I have been known to open a yet-to-be-purchased Target brand glucose tabs on occasion.
I don't have lows in Targets. But I nearly always lose my temper in Walmarts. :)
LOL! Nice! Happens to me almost every single time!
Ah is Targoglycemia the reason I enter Target only needing one item but leave with 10? :-P
Totally been there and had it ;-) They even do it in their Canadian stores.
