You Tube Tuesday #195

If I had to guess where the cure for diabetes would come from, I would say the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI).

DRI is focused on research to find a cure. That is their number one goal. Now you have a way of helping too. They have created the "Be Part of the Cure" campaign.

You can literally be part of the “CURE” by making a donation (as little as $10) and upload a photo and personal story into the virtual mosaic that spells the word C-U-R-E. You will be able to see the collage filling up with thousands of photos and stories and can search for yourself and those who you know. Two corporations supporting this effort have agreed to match up to the first $25,000.  The final CURE image – with your photo - will be printed on a giant banner that will hang in the Diabetes Research Institute. Additionally, those who make a minimum donation of $50 will receive a mouse pad with the final CURE image.

Casey is my cat and he has taken a liking to my new Mac. I cannot blame him, it is quite awesome.

But here I am trying to tweet and he has to hop up on my desk and lay down right on the keyboard. So I recorded him.

You Tube Tuesday #192

The clip I chose this week is something I really hope you all check out. It's the premier episode of TCOYD's Extreme Diabetes Makeover. I had seen a mention of this on Twitter a while back but never got around to actually checking it out.

Until this last weekend. 

I watched all the episodes available so far and I cannot wait for the next one. The Makeover consists of 7 people with diabetes, 2 with type 1 and the rest with type 2, and a dream team of diabetes professionals to help them get their diabetes in better control.

I have only been to one TCOYD event and I cannot wait for the next one I plan on attending the end of this month. I love what Dr. Edelman and his team do to help diabetics and this series is no exception.

You Tube Tuesday #191 - Not By Choice Slideshow

The next few posts are going to be all about the walk/diaversary party/meetup weekend. But for today I want to share a clip with you.

At the after party I put together a little presentation about my diabetes life. At one point I asked all of the PWD's in the room to stand, say their name, and tell us how many years they have had diabetes.

After we went around the room I played my song live and this slidshow was playing in the background.
