Advice Needed
Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 10:58AM
It’s really difficult to write a post today since my brain is busy thinking about the walk this weekend. I have the party pretty much figured out. Music, food, prizes, all are good to go.
For the walk though I am kind of scrambling. The last two walks I did were for the ADA and the teams were much smaller than this team. I can round up 15 people but 60! 60 people are a lot to manage and I want to make sure I am doing this right.
I will have signs with the “Team Ninjabetic” on them for people to see but what else should I bring to the walk? I will have shirts ready for the walkers but is there anything else I should do?
I am calling on all of the veteran team captains for some help. Any advice would be appreciated!

Delegate a second-in-command who can take over for you if you get busy, need to take care of some diabetes stuff, or go to the bathroom or something. That way things don't fall apart if you get overwhelmed.
Scout the area where the walk begins and find a spot, easy to find and tell peeps to gather there. If they just get close, they should be able to spot a sign or someone in one of your shirts. Put the same design/color on the signs as the shirts
Have a great time! Wish is could be there

I would say make sure they all have your cell phone number just in case of anything. Maybe even print out a simple guideline for people if they need so they dont feel overwhelmed with a lot of people there.
Hi George,
I usually send out an email the day or two before telling everyone where to meet. Maybe hang out somewhere in the vicinity of registration. Have a sign (great idea), your shirts. I usually hand out my shirts before walk day, but it sounds like it is too late for that AND I believe you have many people coming from out of state. I think you are good to go.
P.S. Make sure and get a team photo prior to the Walk...it is hard to get everyone back together once the Walk is on it's way!
I have never been on a team with more than 4 people. I have no idea but I sure am excited for Saturday!! :D
Sounds like its going to be an awesome weekend!! Buckle up and have fun!!
